Six area Kentucky Civil Air Patrol cadets promoted

The Southern Kentucky Civil Air Patrol Squadron promoted six cadets during its August promotion ceremony.

Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Joshua Martin, a Bowling Green High School 11th grader, completed his Achievement 8 and earned the Neil Armstrong Ribbon.

Cadet James Dinan, a Bowling Green High School ninth grader, was promoted to cadet technical sergeant after completing his Achievement 4 and earned his Eddie Rickenbacker Ribbon.

Cadet Zane Allison, a homeschooled 10th grader, was promoted to cadet staff sergeant and earned his Wright Brothers’ Award.

Cadet Angina Corbett, an 11th grader at Franklin Simpson High School, completed her Achievement 3, earned the Mary Feik ribbon and was promoted to cadet senior airman.

Cadet Simon Walther, a homeschooled 12th grader, completed his Achievement 2, earned the General Hap Arnold ribbon and was promoted to cadet airman first class.

Cadet Garrett Bidwell, a 10th grader at Franklin Simpson High School, completed Achievement 1, earned the Major General John Curry ribbon and was promoted to cadet airman.

In order to be promoted, cadets must complete training and tests in leadership, aerospace, fitness and character development.
