Joshua Martin, a rising 11th grader at Bowling Green High School, earned the Civil Air Patrol’s Blue Beret and St. Alban’s cross for his distinguished service at the EAA’s 2022 AirVenture Air Show in Oshkosh, Wis.

Martin, a cadet chief master sergeant in the Civil Air Patrol Southern Kentucky Squadron, spent the past two weeks training and participating in Civil Air Patrol’s National Blue Beret.

The 16-year-old was one of 129 CAP cadets representing 45 states and territories selected to participate in this year’s National Blue Beret, one of CAP’s most elite national cadet special activities.
