Thank you for your editorial (Dam projects need a closer eye, July 24) about the problems with the Lock 5 removal. Not only are there problems associated with the water issues for Edmonson County, but other issues that have to deal with the other long-term effects with the major feeder creeks that run into the river between Lock 5 and 6. Alexander Creek, Little Beaver Dam Creek and Bear Creek all have their own ecosystems that could be adversely affected by the dam removal at Lock 5. These watersheds play a role in the Green River sustainability and need to be studied just as the main river channel.
