Dedication of Gordon Wilson Hall

- Gordon Wilson Hall at Western Kentucky University was dedicated May 13, 1969.
Gordon Wilson Hall, which formerly housed the Western Kentucky University Library, was officially dedicated 50 years ago May 13, 1969. Wilson was a prominent folklorist and professor who was employed by the university in various capacities for more than 40 years until his retirement in 1959.
Designed by Brinton Davis and constructed in 1927, Gordon Wilson Hall is one of the oldest and most distinguished buildings on campus. Elements of classic Greek and Art Deco architecture are featured in its design. Converted into classrooms after Margie Helm Library opened in 1965, it is currently the home of the WKU Theatre and Dance Department.
