Bowling Green – Kenneth Carl Kimbro of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away May 5, 2019. He was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to the late Tommy and Pauline Kimbro. Ken grew up in Bowling Green and later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1955. He was a dedicated employee of Amtrack until he made the decision to retire. He received many accolades throughout his time, including the “Man of the Year” Award. His easy-going nature and infectious smile endeared him to friends and strangers alike. Ken was the loving husband of Carmen Beals-Kimbro. He was preceded in death by Doris Kimbro, the loving mother of his 4 children. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne (June), a brother-in-law Roger Jenkins, and two nephews. Survivors include a brother, Neil (Peggy), a sister Pat Jenkins, a son Steven (Lisa), 3 daughters-Dona, Judith (Donald), and Cynthia. Ken had two stepsons Jeff Beals (Rhonda) and Leslie Beals (Cindy). He had one nephew Tommy Kimbro (Melita). Ken had 8 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 step great-grandchild. Visitation will be at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, on Tuesday, May 7 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 8, with a service to follow at 2:00 pm. An additional viewing and service will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana, at a later date.
