Shelby Gettings is making her presence felt on the Logan County softball team.

The freshman is enjoying a solid stretch hitting and pitching for the Lady Cougars by boasting a 1.38 earned run average in the circle and a .453 batting average at the plate.

Gettings picked up Logan County’s last two wins with a shutout victory against Hopkins County Central with four strikeouts Monday and earned the win against South Warren on Saturday.

On April 25, she hit a home run and drove in five runs against Hopkinsville.

“My defense is really good so when they put the ball in play, I trust them to get the out,” Gettings said. “It’s really a team effort, not just me. It’s a lot of fun with my teammates and everything. It’s easy to enjoy it.”

The Lady Cougars (17-4) play at Butler County on Friday.
