Western Kentucky recruiting target Sean McNeil announced Sunday on Twitter that he’s committed to West Virginia.

McNeil’s pledge to the Mountaineers came after he tweeted a list March 20 of his six finalists: Dayton, Mississippi, Oregon, Texas Tech, WKU and WVU.

The 6-foot-4 guard out of Sinclair (Ohio) Community College averaged 29.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in 2018-19.

McNeil was at E.A. Diddle Arena on Dec. 29 for a visit as the Hilltoppers beat No. 15 Wisconsin. He earned a scholarship offer from coach Rick Stansbury.

WKU hasn’t yet secured any recruiting commitments this spring after signing three Class of 2019 high school prospects (Isaiah Cozart, Jackson Harlan and Nick Ongenda) in the fall.
