Mark Robert Harmer

Bowling Green – Mark Robert Harmer, 57, of Bowling Green passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.

Son of Duane R. Harmer and the late Gloria Claybrook Kapka, he was born April 20, 1961 in Coos Bay, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Claybrook Kapka; older sister Karen A. Raabe; and younger brother Jeffery Harmer. Mark is survived by his sister Dehon Collier (Dean) of Bowling Green; sons Jason Harmer (Trisha) of Denton, TX, Christopher Harmer (Shelley) of Washington, D.C., and Justin Harmer (Bekkah) of Bowling Green; his daughter Ashley Harmer of Bowling Green; ten grandchildren and several dearly beloved nieces and nephews.

Mark is remembered as a loving father, son, brother, uncle and grandfather, who enjoyed gardening and decorating, but loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Mark viewed the world as a beautiful place to be explored and that all people deserve the right to equality and love.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, February 18 th 2019, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Bowling Green, located at 2033 Nashville Road in Bowling Green with cremation to follow. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapels has been entrusted with arrangements.
