Clinton County’s Harlan, Lady Pats’ Sutton earn top All-Region 4 honors

Clinton County senior Jackson Harlan and Allen County-Scottsville’s Sarah Sutton have earned the top honors on the All-Region 4 basketball teams, announced Friday.

Harlan, a senior who has signed to play men’s basketball at Western Kentucky, was named the Region 4 Boys’ Player of the Year. Entering Friday’s home matchup against Monroe County, Harlan was scoring a team-best 24.2 points and grabbing 4.7 rebounds per game for Clinton County (19-6 overall, 8-0 District 16).

Allen County-Scottsville’s Brad Bonds was named the Region 4 Boys’ Basketball Coach of the Year.

Other first-team All-Region 4 boys’ picks were Monroe County’s Chandler Clements, Bowling Green’s Isaiah Mason, Allen County-Scottsville’s Brett Rippy and Glasgow’s Nik Sorrell.

Sutton, a senior who has signed to play women’s basketball at Murray State, garnered Region 4 Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year honors. Sutton is averaging an area-high 22.6 points per game and leads the Lady Patriots with 6.6 rebounds per outing.

Metcalfe County’s Josh Hurt was named the Region 4 Girls’ Basketball Coach of the Year.

Other first-team All-Region 4 girls’ selections were South Warren’s Natalie Pierce, Allen County-Scottsville’s Mason Towery, Bowling Green’s T’Alla Brown and Barren County’s Elizabeth Bertram.
