In a tough fought battle in the No. 2 doubles match, WKU’s freshmen tandem of Zeniece Charles-Hall and Judit Gonzalez Agud fell 7-5. Belmont won the third match by default and clinched the doubles point.

Friess won the first set of her match at No. 2 singles, ultimately falling 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (13-11) to Belmont’s Erin Allen. Charles-Hall picked up a second-set win before losing 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (10-4).

Spain-native Bernardos added a few game wins for the Red and White, falling to Belmont 6-3, 6-3 at the leading spot. Gonzalez Agud was defeated 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 and freshman Kyla Dilger picked up one game win in a 6-1, 6-0 loss at No. 5 singles to Bowling Green native Terra Sheldon.

WKU (0-3) will make its farthest road trip for the entire season this weekend as the Lady Tops travel to Denton, Texas. WKU will play a neutral-site match against UT Arlington before playing its first Conference USA match at North Texas.
