Mary and James Wix

James Travis Wix and Mary Alice Owens were married Dec. 24, 1968, at Calvary Baptist Church in Bowling Green.

They will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 13, 2019, at Rich Pond Baptist Church.

They enjoy serving their church, being active in the community and more than anything else, spending time with their grandchildren. Travis and Mary are both graduates of Bowling Green High School. Mary attended Western Kentucky University and graduated with a degree in nursing in 1970. Travis served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971.

Travis spent many years working for Holley Performance and for Nyloncraft of Kentucky, while Mary worked as a nurse and clinical manager for The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Both are enjoying retirement and spending more time with family.

Travis and Mary have two children, James Michael Wix (Ruthie) and Sarah Elizabeth Rucker (Robert). They also have four grandchildren, Madeline Elizabeth Wix, Katelyn Ruthanne Wix, Anna Katherine Rucker and Jax Andrew Rucker.

All family and friends are invited to the reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 13 at Rich Pond Baptist Church.
