The Bowling Green area was under a winter weather advisory Wednesday morning, as snowy conditions created an environment for vehicle accidents.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory Tuesday for a large swath of the state, and forecasts called for about a half-inch of snow accumulation generally with localized amounts exceeding one inch.

Icy conditions caused law enforcement to respond to a number of multivehicle crashes on the area’s major roads, according to several social media accounts.
