He is accused of firing a gun at Milton Clemente as he and two other people were grilling Sept. 23 on the porch of a mobile home at Country Living Estates on Louisville Road.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded Sept. 23 to a shots fired complaint at the mobile home park.

Deputy J.D. Thompson met with Clemente, who reported that a man, later identified as Venegas, walked up to him and his two friends and asked for a ride because his car, a Honda Accord, had run out of gas on Louisville Road, according to an arrest citation.

Clemente told law enforcement that Venegas became upset for an unknown reason and pulled out a small-caliber pistol from his coat pocket, according to court records.

“Clemente advised Venegas fired one round in the air and told him to get on his knees,” Thompson said in the arrest citation. “Once Clemente was on his knees, Venegas placed the gun to his head. Clemente advised Venegas was yelling at him and once he stood up, Venegas fired another shot toward Clemente’s feet.”

Venegas then told Clemente to walk back into the mobile home and not say a word, the citation said. As Venegas walked away from the address, he turned and fired a third shot toward Clemente and his friends, court records said.

The two other people with Clemente gave similar accounts of what happened and a description of the suspect, noting his clothing and other features.

“Clemente advised (Venegas) was also carrying a knife on the right side of his belt,” Thompson said in the arrest citation.

Deputies located an unoccupied Honda Accord on Louisville Road near Porter Pike and learned the car belonged to Venegas.

Thompson returned to Country Living Estates to speak with Clemente, who said he had seen Venegas before and knew him as “Joker.”

Clemente said “Joker” had a girlfriend who lived at the mobile home park, court records show.

Deputies went to the address of Venegas’ girlfriend and made contact with her, learning from her that Venegas was at her residence earlier that day and he appeared to be upset.

Venegas’ girlfriend later contacted dispatchers and reported that Venegas was hiding in a vehicle outside her residence.

Deputies located Venegas in a Chevrolet Envoy and arrested him. A pistol was located underneath the front middle console of the vehicle where Venegas was found and he also had a hunting knife on his belt, according to his arrest citation.

Venegas declined to give a statement to police and is currently in Warren County Regional Jail under a $25,000 cash bond.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Warren Circuit Court.
