An Edmonson County woman was arrested early Wednesday on allegations that she intentionally set a fire inside the mobile home where she and her husband live.
According to the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at 12:23 a.m. Wednesday to a structure fire at a Brownsville Road address.
David Bush had reported to authorities that his wife, Annie Jewell Bush, 40, of Brownsville, had set the fire and that flames were visible from inside the mobile home.
Volunteer fire departments from Brownsville, Chalybeate, Rocky Hill and Wingfield put out the fire, but the mobile home was severely damaged.
Annie Bush told law enforcement she set a mattress on fire inside the mobile home during an argument with her husband, according to the sheriff’s office.
She was arrested on a charge of second-degree arson and placed in Hart County Jail. Additional charges are pending, according to the sheriff’s office.
