A WKUPD officer responded to a drug complaint call coming from Kentucky Street Apartments. The odor of marijuana was detected coming from Hollingsworth’s room, the citation said.

Hollingsworth gave the officer consent to enter the room. When asked if marijuana was in the apartment, Hollingsworth went into his room and produced a zip lock bag with marijuana inside.

The sophomore guard Hollingsworth was suspended for WKU’s Oct. 30 exhibition game against NAIA program Campbellsville.

Hollingsworth returned for the Toppers’ exhibition Saturday against Division II school Kentucky Wesleyan, then played again Tuesday for WKU in its season opener at No. 25 Washington.

Murray was cited at 7:08 p.m. Friday for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A WKUPD officer responded to a disturbance complaint at Kentucky Street Apartments. A marijuana odor was evident in Murray’s apartment upon opening the door, the citation said.

Murray said he had been smoking marijuana but there was no longer any marijuana in the apartment. He gave consent to search the apartment and his bedroom.

Upon searching Murray’s bedroom, the officer located a Nike shoe box in the closet with marijuana in the box. There were also clear plastic baggies and clear plastic bottles in the shoe box. The Nike shoe box, marijuana and paraphernalia were logged into evidence.

Murray was suspended indefinitely Saturday. The graduate senior forward missed the KWC exhibition and didn’t travel with WKU to Washington.
