Western Kentucky guard Josh Anderson was arrested early Thursday morning on a charge of second-degree disorderly conduct.

According to a Bowling Green Police Department citation, officers responded to Hilltop Club Apartments, 2426 Thoroughbred Drive, in reference to a large congregation in the parking lot of the 300 (block) building.

Upon arrival, officers observed a large crowd of people in different areas in the parking lot. Everyone in the lot was asked to disperse and the majority started to leave, with the exception of Anderson, the citation states.

“I observed Anderson standing next to a vehicle dancing and singing which caused people to stand there and laugh at him,” the citation reads. “For the second time, I asked Anderson to leave by telling (him) to stop dancing and get in the vehicle that was waiting for him.

“Anderson said multiple curse words and started yelling at me instead of leaving. Anderson’s actions caused annoyance, inconvenience and/or alarm while in public.”

Anderson was booked into the Warren County Regional Jail at 12:52 a.m. Thursday. He was released later Thursday at 11:46.

“We are aware of the situation and handling it internally at this time,” team spokesman Zach Greenwell told the Daily News.

Anderson is a 6-foot-6, 195-pound guard from Baton Rouge, La. The sophomore finished with a team-high 22 points, five assists and two rebounds Tuesday in a 91-66 exhibition win over NAIA program Campbellsville at E.A. Diddle Arena.

The Hilltoppers host NCAA Division II school Kentucky Wesleyan in another exhibition at 2 p.m. Saturday. They open the regular season Tuesday at No. 25 Washington.
