Franklin – Mr. Glespy D. “Pa” Tuck, age 95 of Franklin, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1pm at Sulphur Spring Baptist Church with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted at graveside by the Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Macon County Tennessee, he was the son of the late Semer Tuck and Lillie Ann Hesson Tuck. Pa was a graduate of Simpson County High School and a World War II Army veteran serving in the Philippines. His career began as a farmer in the West Simpson Community then he worked at Sears & Roebuck in Bowling Green, Hughes Hardware, Pennyroyal Nursery and Homestead in Franklin. After retirement he worked at Food Lion in Franklin and made friendships that have lasted to this day. He was also owner of Tuck Framing for over 30 years. After the death of his wife, Bettye Sue “Grannie”, he continued to make brownies for Dianne Thurmond Catering and loved being outside tending his garden and flowers. He was the oldest member of Sulphur Spring Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife – Bettye Sue Nichols Tuck; son in law – Thomas Crafton; 3 brothers – Ethridge, Nefty and Edgie Tuck. Survivors include his daughter – Ann Mary Crafton of Franklin; 1 sister – Lula Mae Konow of Franklin; 2 grandchildren – Mary Thomas Vincent and husband Eric of Franklin and Patrick Crafton and wife Kristin of Franklin; 7 great grandchildren – Andrew Vincent, Hunter Crafton, Luke Crafton, Connor Vincent, Corbin Vincent, Salem Crafton and Della Crafton. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm Friday and from 6am until 10:00am Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church beginning at 11am.
