Greenwood draws Lady Wildcats in Region 4 volleyball opener

- Greenwood’s Ella Crowe returns a serve Thursday during the Lady Gators’ 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-14, 25-22) win over South Warren in the District 14 volleyball championship at Bowling Green High School.
District 14 tournament champion Greenwood will be in action Monday to begin play in the Region 4 volleyball tournament at Franklin-Simpson High School.
The Lady Gators will face Franklin-Simpson in a first-round match at 6 p.m., with Clinton County meeting Glasgow in the second match of the night at 7:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, Logan County will face Russell County in a 6 p.m. match. District 14 runner-up South Warren follows with a 7:30 p.m. match against Allen County-Scottsville.
The Region 4 volleyball semifinals are scheduled Wednesday at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with Thursday’s championship scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The Region 4 boys’ soccer tournament also begins Monday at South Warren High School.
Logan County takes on Clinton County in a 5:30 p.m. first-round match, followed by District 14 runner-up Bowling Green against Franklin-Simpson at 7:30 p.m.
District 14 tournament champion South Warren, which along with Glasgow received a first-round bye, will face the Logan/Clinton winner in Tuesday’s 6 p.m. semifinal match.
The Bowling Green/Franklin-Simpson winner is scheduled to play Glasgow at 7:30 p.m.
The Region 4 boys’ soccer tournament championship game is set for 6 p.m. Thursday.
Greenwood, the District 14 tournament runner-up, will play Barren County in a 6 p.m. match Monday in the first round of the Region 4 girls’ soccer tournament at the Barren-Glasgow Soccer Complex. Glasgow and Franklin-Simpson will meet in Monday’s other first-round match starting at 5 p.m.
District 14 tournament champion Bowling Green, which got a first-round bye, takes on the Glasgow/Franklin-Simpson winner in Tuesday’s 5:30 p.m. semifinal match. Logan County, which got the other first-round bye, faces the Greenwood/Barren County winner at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The Region 4 girls’ soccer championship is set for 6 p.m. Thursday.
