Maroons deal first loss to Logan County

Visiting Madisonville-North Hopkins rallied for a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to hand Logan County a 21-17 loss Friday night.
Trailing 17-7 entering the fourth quarter, the Maroons got a 29-yard touchdown run from Jeriah Hightower with 6:02 to play, then the go-ahead score just more than a minute later on JD Gilbert’s 1-yard touchdown run.
Quarterback Tyler Ezell was 12 for 27 passing for 180 yards and a touchdown for Logan County (7-1). Chandler Silver had six catches for 105 yards, and Gary Hardy added 104 rushing yards on 17 carries for the Cougars.
Logan County is back in action Oct. 19 at Calloway County.
Glasgow 42, Monroe County 21
Glasgow rallied back from a two-touchdown halftime deficit to beat host Monroe County 42-21 on Friday night in Tompkinsville.
Nick Mitchell had 248 rushing yards and four touchdowns for the Scotties. Quarterback Tanner Abernathy added 95 rushing yards and a touchdown for Glasgow (7-1)
The Scotties return to action Oct. 19 at Metcalfe County.
McLean County 42, Butler County 6
Visiting McLean County rolled up 456 total yards in handing Butler County a 42-6 setback Friday.
Peyton Caraway led McLean with 102 rushing yards and two TDs, and Jacob Miller added 75 rushing yards and three scores.
Butler County avoided the shutout when Warren Cameron scored on a 13-yard touchdown run with 5:24 to play. Ethan Lawrence led the Bears with 65 rushing yards and Cameron added 46 rushing yards on five carries.
Butler County (0-8) visits Todd County Central on Oct. 19.
