Balanced Gators earn 9-0 win over Logan County

Host Greenwood got goals from eight players in a 9-0 boys’ soccer win over Logan County on Thursday.

Ibragim Muradov had two goals for the Gators, while Ram Ceu, Chan Lian and Ben Patterson each tallied a goal and an assist. Greenwood’s Hunter Hawkins, Drew Loiars, Aiden Packard and Khup Tung also tallied goals, Abdikerin Ahmed finished with three assists and Simon Thang added an assist.

Goalkeepers Zaya Htat and Drew Loiars combined for two saves to record the shutout.

Greenwood (11-5-2) closes the regular season Saturday at home against Hopkinsville.

Logan County (8-6) returns to actin against Todd County Central Tuesday in the District 13 tournament semifinals at Franklin-Simpson.

Visiting Warren Central closed its regular season with a 2-0 boys’ soccer victory Thursday over Central Hardin.

Jimmy Estrada and Kevin Mendez tallied goals for the Dragons, with Kaung Hein and August Say tallying assists.

Goalkeeper Allen Nezic recorded the shutout.

Warren Central (15-5-1) will face the Bowling Green/Warren East winner in the District 14 tournament semifinals Tuesday at Greenwood.

Lyon County 5, Russellville 4

Host Russellville dropped a 5-4 boys’ soccer decision to Lyon County despite a hat trick from Hunter McDowell on Thursday.

McDowell finished with three goals and Jesus Zamarripa had one goal for the Panthers. Avery Flener chipped in with an assist.

Russellville (8-10-2) closes its regular season Saturday at Muhlenberg County.
