Brent Moody, who has served in various administrative positions with the Camping World family of companies since 2002, has been promoted to president of Camping World Holdings Inc.
Founded in Bowling Green in 1966 by the late David Garvin, Camping World operates 120 retail/service locations in 36 states and also sells products online. The company still has an administrative presence in Bowling Green, but the Camping World Holdings website lists the corporate headquarters in Lincolnshire, Ill.
Moody most recently served as Camping World’s chief operating and legal officer and, since joining the Camping World family of companies in 2002, has served in a variety of executive roles, including chief administrative and legal officer, executive vice president/general counsel and business development and vice president and general counsel.
Bowling Green is home to a Camping World retail store along with an adjacent Gander Outdoors store. Camping World Chairman Marcus Lemonis rescued Gander Mountain from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2017 when Camping World acquired Gander and its Overton’s subsidiary for $38 million plus assumption of certain liabilities. He then rebranded Gander Mountain as Gander Outdoors.
Lemonis merged Camping World with his Freedom Roads company in 2006 and with Good Sam Enterprises in 2011. He took Camping World Holdings public in 2016, raising $251 million by selling 11.4 million shares at $22 per share. The company reported revenue of $1.1 billion and net income of $17.3 million for the first quarter of 2018. Its stock was trading at $21.47 per share when the market opened Monday.
