Lady Toppers roll to 3-0 volleyball sweep of Saint Louis

Western Kentucky’s volleyball team won its third straight match Friday night in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-18) sweep of host Saint Louis in the Marcia E. Hamilton Classic.

The Lady Toppers offense was firing on all cylinders, finding the floor for 42 kills against just five errors for a .463 hitting clip on the contest. WKU improved to 3-2 while Saint Louis fell to 0-4.

Katie Isenbarger and Hallie Shelton led the way for WKU offensively with 10 kills each – both career highs. Rachel Anderson finished with eight kills on 12 swings for a team-best .667 clip. Isenbarger also led WKU in blocks for the second straight match with three.

The Lady Toppers defense collected 39 digs while stifling the Billiken attack to a .105 clip. Emma Kowalkowski led WKU with 14 digs.

WKU’s Taylor Bebout and Mary Martin shared setting duties, recording 22 and nine assists, respectively.

WKU will close weekend action with a doubleheader Saturday at the Hamilton Classic in St. Louis. First up, the Lady Toppers will take on Marquette at 10 a.m. before closing weekend play with a 5 p.m. tilt against Kansas State.
