Hot Rods fall in extra innings

The Bowling Green Hot Rods’ comeback bid fell short with a 4-3 loss in 10 innings at Great Lakes (Mich.) on Thursday.
Bowling Green (78-44 overall, 31-22 second half) scored two runs in the eighth inning to tie, but Great Lakes won it with an unearned run in the 10th.
Moises Gomez homered, his 13th of the season, while Taylor Walls finished with three hits and two runs scored.
Tyler Day took the loss, allowing one unearned run in 2 2/3 innings, to drop to 0-5 on the season.
The series concludes at 6:05 p.m. CDT Friday. Right-hander Paul Campbell (3-0, 2.91) is scheduled to start for Bowling Green, with right-hander Gerardo Carrillo (0-1, 2.03) scheduled to start for Great Lakes.
