Hot Rods blanked at Wisconsin

The Bowling Green Hot Rods fell to 1-3 on the current road trip after dropping a 1-0 decision at Wisconsin on Saturday in Appleton, Wis.

Wisconsin plated the lone run of the game on a fielder’s choice in the eighth inning and Bowling Green (65-33 overall, 18-11 second half) went down in order in the ninth.

Vidal Brujan and Carl Chester finished with two hits each for the Hot Rods.

Bowling Green’s Tobias Myers tossed seven shutout innings, allowing four hits with eight strikeouts.

The series continues at 1:05 p.m. Sunday. Right-hander Mikey York (1-0, 1.59) is scheduled to start for Bowling Green. Right-hander Dylan File (6-6, 3.71) is scheduled to start for Wisconsin.
