Matthew Escalera tossed a three-hit shutout as the Bowling Green East 10-and-11 year-old Little League All-Stars advanced to the District 1 championship game with a 4-0 win over Daviess County on Thursday at Phil Moore Park.

Escalera struck out 10 and walked one, tossing a complete game on 74 pitches. He also finished with two hits. Evan Schallert added three hits and Chaze Huff finished with two RBIs.

BG East will face Owensboro Southern in the championship game at 6 p.m. Friday.

Owensboro Southern 12, Warren County South 7

Warren County’s season came to an end with a loss to Owensboro Southern in the semifinals.

Brady Patterson had two hits and an RBI, while Jameson Napper had two hits and a run scored. Gray Pearson and Daniel Strain chipped in two RBIs and a hit each.{&end}
