WC North defeats Logan in 11-12s All-Star district match

Ayden Barrick helped Warren County North’s 11- and 12-year-old all-stars’ offense explode for a 15-1 win over Logan County in the District 1 Little League Tournament on Sunday at Phil Moore Park.
Warren County North (2-1) scored 10 runs in the first inning and Barrick had a grand slam in the fourth inning to go with his double.
Tucker Stringfield had three hits and scored three runs for Warren County North, which will play Franklin-Simpson in the semifinals Monday at 5 p.m.
Wyatt Nesbitt scattered four hits and struck out two in four innings pitched.
WC South 16, Hopkinsville 0
Keenan Briggs, Cyler Talley and Easton Talley combined to throw a no-hitter in Warren County South’s 16-0 shutout over Hopkinsville on Sunday.
Cyler Talley earned the start and struck out two with two walks, Briggs pitched 1 1/3 innings with three strikeouts and Easton Talley closed the last two innings and retired five batters.
Six players had at least two hits for WC South. Andrew Milam hit a home run and James Russell drove in three runs.
WC South will play Owensboro Southern in the District 1 semifinals Monday at 7 p.m.
Franklin-Simpson 6, BG East 3
Franklin-Simpson put up four runs in the last two innings to come back and beat Bowling Green East 6-3 in the final game of pool play.
BG East led 3-2 through three innings and outhit Franklin-Simpson 9-8.
Wick Dotson and Jack Ledoger had two hits for BG East.

BG East 10, East Daviess 0
Andru Jones and Drew Pierce combined for a no-hit shutout as Bowling Green East defeated East Daviess 10-0 to finish up pool play with three wins.
Pierce earned the start and struck out six batters and issued one walk over two innings. Jones closed the door with two strikeouts in the last two innings.
BG East needed just five hits from Jackson Lee, Lincoln Fowler, Miles Richey, Sam Holder and Embree Dotson for the win.
BG East will play Franklin-Simpson at 1 p.m. Monday in the semifinals at Phil Moore Park.
WC South 11, Logan County 0
Lukas Peterson and Caden McIntyre combined to throw a no-hitter in shutting out Logan County 11-0 on Sunday. Logan Nix had a home run while Peterson and Will Coffey each had two hits.
WC South outscored opponents 42-1 in three victories in pool play and will play Owensboro Southern at 3 p.m. in the District 1 semifinals Monday at Phil Moore Park.
Franklin 7, WC North 6
Franklin-Simpson fought back with four runs in the fourth inning to edge Warren County North 7-6 to wrap up pool play. Rhett Bullock batted 3-for-4 and scored two runs for Warren County North (1-2), which lost despite outhitting Franklin-Simpson 10-3.
Carson Choate and Rylan Hunt combined for 11 strikeouts in five innings pitched. Hunt struck out four and didn’t allow a hit in two innings.
Andrew Barbalas had a double and two RBIs.
10-11s
Owensboro South 7, BG East 5
Bowling Green East gave up a late lead and fell to Owensboro South 7-5 to end pool play in the 10- and 11-year-old all-star tournament.
Owensboro South scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth, tying the game on a, RBI single and adding an insurance run on a passed ball.
Grayson Newman scored two runs for BG East, which will wrap up pool play Monday against Logan County at 11 a.m.
WC South 14, Franklin-Simpson 7
Warren County South pulled away after a big first inning to defeat Franklin-Simpson 14-7 on Sunday. WC South outhit Franklin-Simpson 16-5, led by four hits from Grafton Dolan and three hits from Daniel Strain.
Michael Coradini and Gray Pearson each drove in three runs as WC South broke from a tight 5-4 lead with six runs in the second inning.
Nathan Howard and Nate Owens combined for the win. Howard had four strikeouts in three innings of starting work while Owens allowed two hits in the final three innings pitched.
WC South has Monday off before ending pool play against East Daviess Tuesday.
Logan County 12, WC North 2
No stats were available for this game. WC North played East Daviess at 9 a.m. Monday morning to end pool play.{&end}
