Hot Rods extend win streak to 11

The Bowling Green Hot Rods ended the regular season’s first half with a franchise-record 11th straight win, beating Lake County (Ohio) 6-2 on Sunday in Eastlake, Ohio.

Alexander Alvarez had three hits, including his first homer of the season, for Bowling Green (47-22). Taylor Walls had two hits and two RBIs, while Mac Seibert finished with two hits.

Resly Linares earned the win, allowing one hit with eight strikeouts over five innings.

The Hot Rods will take the next three days off for the all-star break before returning home to open the second half against Lake County at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, the start of a four-game series.
