Hot Rods lose, second game suspended

The Bowling Green Hot Rods lost game one of a scheduled doubleheader at Fort Wayne (Ind.) 5-3 on Thursday, and game two was suspended while tied 1-1 in the fourth inning due to rain.
Jack Suwinski’s three-run homer in the second inning helped propel Fort Wayne (24-28) to the win in game one.
Vidal Brujan and Jim Haley had two hits each for Bowling Green (33-19). Haley drove in two runs.
The second game was tied heading into the fourth inning, with the game suspended after a 52-minute delay. The two teams meet in Bowling Green June 12-14, with the completion of Thursday’s game taking place during that series.
Bowling Green returns home for a three-game series against West Michigan at 6:35 p.m. Friday, the start of a six-game homestand.
