South Warren junior Natalie Pierce was in a groove Tuesday night to start the Region 4 girls’ basketball tournament.
The guard set the tone early for the Spartans in their 63-25 rout of Todd County Central, with 20 of her game-high 22 points coming in the first half.
“It was a great feeling,” Pierce said. “My teammates were getting me the ball and finding me.”
Pierce made 8-of-16 shots from the field, shot 4-for-8 from behind the 3-point line and made both free-throw attempts. She also added four rebounds, two assists and had three steals in 17 minutes on the floor.
The win improved the Spartans to 30-3 on the season and sets up a region semifinal matchup with Glasgow on Friday at 8 p.m. at E.A. Diddle Arena.
