South Warren cruises past Franklin-Simpson

Peyton Ferry had 14 points to lead South Warren past Franklin-Simpson 73-22 on Thursday at South Warren.
Amaya Lasley had 13 points for South Warren (25-3), which equaled a school record for wins in a season. Natalie Pierce added 11 points for the Spartans, while Jordan McDonald finished with 10 points.
Alera Barbee and Kate Norwood led Franklin-Simpson (5-22) with nine points each.

Metcalfe County 46
Mason Towery had 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Lady Patriots past Metcalfe County.
Sarah Sutton added 12 points and seven rebounds for Allen County-Scottsville (16-11), which has won seven of its past eight games.

Marcus Carter had 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead ACS to the win over Metcalfe County.
Brett Rippy also finished with 12 points, while Charlie Calvert added 10 points for Allen County-Scottsville (9-16).
Fowler finishes third
at state bowling
South Warren’s Brandon Fowler finished third in the KHSAA state bowling boys’ singles Thursday in Louisville.
Fowler was one of four bowlers to qualify for the finals, bowling 1,013 over five qualifying games. He beat Central Hardin’s Tanner Goodman 189-175 to advance to the semifinals, where he lost to DuPont Manual’s Jacob Rowan 181-168.
Rowan lost to Highlands’ Andy Campbell in the championship match.
Warren East’s Andrew McWhorter also competed but did not advance past qualifying, finishing 11th with a three-game score of 547.
