Greenwood sophomore Ben Carroll is enjoying a high level of consistency in the Gators’ frontcourt.
Carroll is averaging 18.3 points and 10.6 rebounds during Greenwood’s current three-game winning streak.
“Once the shots start falling, I just gain confidence and you’ve got to keep taking them,” Carroll said. “You’re hurting your team if you’re not taking shots. … Coach has given me the green light, my teammates trust me, so it’s good.”
Carroll scored 26 points Friday against South Warren on 9-of-17 shooting with 10 rebounds. He had 11 points and 13 boards against Franklin-Simpson on Saturday, then fell one rebound short of another double-double in an overtime win against Allen County-Scottsville on Tuesday night.
“We’re coming to a point in the season where we have to be at our best and the tournament is coming up,” Carroll said. “We just have to stay clicking and not let anything stop us.”
Greenwood wraps up District 14 play at Warren Central on Friday.
