Lunardi projects Hilltoppers as NCAA Tournament 12-seed

Western Kentucky garnered an NCAA Tournament projection Thursday for the second straight week from ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi.
The Hilltoppers were again listed in Lunardi’s latest projected bracket as a 12-seed, earning Conference USA’s automatic NCAA berth.
Lunardi has 12-seed WKU facing 5-seed Auburn in a first-round East Region matchup in Dallas.
The Toppers are 3-1 all-time against the Tigers. Their last meeting was an 86-64 Auburn win Nov. 21, 2003, in Auburn, Ala.
WKU’s last NCAA Tournament appearance came in 2012-13. The Hilltoppers, a 16-seed, lost 64-57 to 1-seed Kansas in the first round in Kansas City, Mo.
