New $9 million electric substation to serve Franklin industries

Warren Rural Electric Cooperative is completing a new $9 million electrical substation on a five-acre tract in Franklin’s Wilkey North Industrial Park. The substation is being built to improve electric service to residential and industrial customers in northern Simpson County and to serve the new Fritz Winter plant in the industrial park.

The substation, a Tennessee Valley Authority delivery point, is designed to eventually serve industrial customers Franklin Precision Industry and Harman Becker International.
