Host Lady Patriots roll past Franklin-Simpson

Host Allen County-Scottsville held Franklin-Simpson to two second-half points and 15 overall Friday night as the Lady Patriots picked up a 58-15 girls’ basketball win.

Mason Towery led ACS with 17 points, plus had team highs of four steals and three blocks in the win. Sarah Sutton added 13 points and seven rebounds, and Baylea Cook had 10 points for the Lady Patriots.

Kate Norwood had nine points to lead Franklin-Simpson (3-7).

ACS (4-3) is back in action Saturday at Casey County. Franklin-Simpson plays Hopkins County Central on Wednesday in the PBI/Dannis Annis Classic at Ohio County.

Glasgow 60, Monroe County 48

Ashanti Gore tallied a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead visiting Glasgow to a 60-48 girls’ basketball win Friday over District 15 rival Monroe County.

Anzley Adwell tallied 12 points and Kaylyn Hale added 11 for the Lady Scotties.

Glasgow (5-2, 1-0) is back in action Tuesday against Nashville’s Christ Presbyterian Academy in the Warren East Holiday Hoops Classic.

Boys

Glasgow 80, Monroe County 79

Glasgow senior Dalvin Smith sank a buzzer-beating shot to lift the Scotties to an 80-79 boys’ basketball victory over host Monroe County on Friday night.

Glasgow improved to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in District 15.

The Scotties return to action Saturday at Shawnee.
