South Warren remains unbeaten with rout at Franklin-Simpson

The South Warren girls’ basketball team improved to 4-0 with a 70-25 win at Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday.
Natalie Pierce led South Warren with 13 points, while Jordan McDonald and Peyton Ferry added 12 points each.
Christina Carver led Franklin-Simpson (2-4) with eight points.
Both teams return to action at 6 p.m. Friday. South Warren will host Warren East, while Franklin-Simpson hosts Logan County.
Edmonson County 70, Daviess County 45
Caitlin Simon had 36 points to lead the Lady Cats past Daviess County on Tuesday.
Peyton Martin added 17 points and seven rebounds for Edmonson County (3-0), which plays at Grayson County at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Allen County 46, OT
The Trojanettes survived a game-tying shot in regulation to outlast the host Lady Patriots in overtime in the District 15 opener for both teams.
Bailey Pedigo led Barren County (2-2 overall, 1-0 District 15) with 14 points, while Elizabeth Bertram and Karleigh Delk added 13 points each.
Sarah Sutton led Allen County-Scottsville (1-2, 0-1) with 16 points, while Mason Towery added 10 points.
Barren County hosts Monroe County at 6 p.m. Friday, while Allen County-Scottsville plays at Bowling Green at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Boys
Warren Central 76, Owensboro 60
Senior Skyelar Potter tallied 34 points and 16 rebounds to lead host Warren Central to a 76-60 win over Owensboro on Tuesday.
Potter got his 1,000th career point in the win.
The Dragons’ Jordan Cousin added 15 points and Micale Mee chipped in 12.
Warren Central (3-0) is back in action Saturday against Paducah Tilghman in the Rafferty’s Shootout at South Warren. Game time is 2 p.m.
Bowling Green 67, Elizabethtown 46
Visiting Bowling Green picked up a 67-46 win at Elizabethtown on Tuesday night.
Senior Jarius Key led the Purples with 21 points and 12 rebounds in the win.
Bowling Green (2-1) returns to action Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against visiting Allen County-Scottsville.
Barren County 55, Allen County 39
Parker Stephens had 14 points to lead the Trojans past ACS.
Jared Coomer added 13 points for Barren County (3-1 overall, 1-0 District 15), while Garrett Arterburn added 10 points.
Marcus Carter led Allen County-Scottsville (1-2, 0-1) with 17 points, while Brett Rippy finished with 11 points.
Barren County will host Monroe County at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Allen County-Scottsville plays at Bowling Green at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
