The Warren East girls’ basketball team won its first season opener since 2008, rolling past Metcalfe County 76-49 on Tuesday at Metcalfe County.

Cailyn Howard led the Lady Raiders with a career-high 24 points – with 22 coming in the second quarter – and seven rebounds. Cressida Duncan added 11 points on a perfect 5-for-5 from the field and Allie Hendrick finished with 10 points.

Warren East will host Edmonson County at 6 p.m. Friday.
