Varner named to financial institutions board

Gov. Matt Bevin appointed Joseph William Varner of Bowling Green, a retired PBI Bank vice president, to the state Financial Institutions Board. He will serve a term that expires Oct. 10, 2021.
The board is responsible for the licensing, chartering and regulation of activities performed by the state chartered/licensed depository and non-depository financial institutions. The board is also in charge of administering activities by individuals and firms who sell or provide advice on securities to Kentucky residents.
