Bowling Green’s Keely Morrow knew as soon as she stepped on the campus of Lipscomb University it was where she wanted to play college basketball.

Morrow officially made that a reality Wednesday, signing with the Nashville school.

“I’m very nervous, but very excited,” Morrow said. “ I am just blessed to be able to say that I have a Division I scholarship for the next four years.”

Morrow said there were other schools she considered, but none of them came close to Lipscomb.

“It sticks out to me,” Morrow said. “The campus is beautiful. Everything is newer. The facilities are great and the coaches are amazing. It really felt like home to me.”

The close proximity to Bowling Green also played a factor in her decision.

“I didn’t want to be too far from home, but 45 minutes to an hour, everybody can make it to my games,” Morrow said. “It’s close and it feels like home, so I can’t wait for Nashville to be home for me.”

Morrow is one of the top returning players in the region, a big part in Bowling Green’s success the last two seasons. The 5-foot-10 guard led the Lady Purples in scoring last season, averaging 21.2 points a night, and added a team-high 7.1 rebounds a night. She shot 42.9 percent from 3-point range and nearly 80 percent from the free-throw line.

She said she is excited to have her college decision behind her.

“It’s just a whole weight off my shoulders,” Morrow said. “It lets me focus more on the team. I’m just ready to play this year and finish out, do what I need to do to get this team ready for next year by themselves.”
