On the biggest stage of the season, South Warren senior hitter Hannah Yonts did her part to extend her prep volleyball career.

Yonts recorded 20 kills and was named tournament MVP after leading South Warren to a 3-2 (25-20, 15-25, 25-21, 17-25, 15-13) win over Greenwood in the Region 4 championship game Oct. 26.

“I feel like my teammates really brought out the best in me,” Yonts said. “Obviously the people on the other side of the net, Greenwood, is going to push me to do my best as well, but this atmosphere really helps. We really rise to the occasion as a team and I am so thankful I was able to do that with my teammates by my side.”

South Warren faces Letcher County Central at 8:30 a.m. Friday in the state tournament.{&end}
