In an effort to keep up with the trend toward online shopping, Wal-Mart launched an online grocery pickup service that has spread to the two Bowling Green Wal-Mart stores.

The free service enables customers to order groceries online and pick them up at their local Wal-Mart store without leaving their cars. The Bowling Green Wal-Mart stores on Walton Avenue and Morgantown Road are participating.

Wal-Mart’s grocery pickup service features 40,000 items. The retailer recently hit a milestone as it opened its 1,000th online grocery pickup location.
