Bowling Green grad Scott earns first-team All-OVC women’s cross country honors

Eastern Kentucky senior Ciara Scott (Bowling Green Class of 2014) helped helped the Colonels post a perfect score in winning Saturday’s Ohio Valley Women’s Cross Country Championship at Tom Woodall Park in Charleston, Ill.

Scott completed the 5,000-meter course in 17 minutes, 25.3 seconds to earn first-team All-OVC honors with her fourth-place finish. EKU scored 15 points for the first perfect score at the OVC Championships since 2004 to win its sixth straight women’s title and 11th in the past 12 years. The Colonels entered the meet ranked No. 21 in the nation.

Morehead State redshirt senior Taylor Montgomery (Barren County Class of 2013) finished 49th overall in 18:58.7, while Austin Peay senior Sarah-Emily Woodward (Bowling Green Class of 2014) was 86th in 21:25.5.

Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State are back in action Nov. 10 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va. Austin Peay next runs in the NCAA South Regional on Nov. 10 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Centre College senior Marisa Moore (Glasgow Class of 2014) earned second-team All-Southern Athletic Association women’s cross country honors Saturday following her eighth-place finish in the SAA Women’s Cross Country Championships held at Nash Farms in Hampton, Ga.

Moore completed the 6K course in 23 minutes, 50.50 seconds to take eighth and help the Colonels win the team championship for the first time since 2014.

In the men’s race, Centre sophomore Wilson Blakeman (Warren Central Class of 2016) finished the 8K course in 32:09.43 to take 66th place. The Colonels finished second in the men’s team standings.

Centre returns to action Nov. 11 at the South/Southeast Regional Championships in Newport News, Va.

Northern Kentucky redshirt junior Keith Prive (Greenwood Class of 2014) finished 37th overall Saturday in the Horizon League Cross Country Championships in Rochester, Mich.

Prive completed the 8K course in 27 minutes, 13.9 seconds, the sixth-fastest finish for the Norsemen. NKU finished third in the team standings.

Northern Kentucky returns to action Nov. 10 in the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va.
