Western Kentucky senior forward Tashia Brown was named to the 2017-18 Preseason All-C-USA Team in a vote by the league’s head coaches, the conference office said Tuesday, joining fellow Lady Topper Ivy Brown on the preseason list.

Tashia Brown has picked up preseason All-C-USA accolades in each of the last two seasons.

She was a first-team All-C-USA selection in 2015-16 and received second-team honors last season.

The Lake Park, Ga., native has 1,331 career points, which ranks 21st in program history. She appears set to break into the top 10 in school history in field goals made, needing 114 made shots from the floor this season to accomplish that feat.

Last season, Brown was the Lady Toppers’ second-leading scorer at 13.4 points a game while also pulling down a career-best 4.1 rebounds per contest.

Over the past two seasons, Brown has come up big in critical situations for the Lady Toppers. In 2015-16, she tallied a pair of 30-point games. The first saw her score a career-best 34 points in an overtime win at Old Dominion, and the second came in the second round of the WNIT as Brown tallied 32 points inside E.A. Diddle Arena against UT Martin.

This past season, Brown again shined in big moments, earning a spot on the NCAA Weekly Starting Five and C-USA Player of the Week accolades after scoring a season-high 28 points in WKU’s upset win over then-No. 23 Indiana.

The senior also scored 25 points in the Lady Toppers’ win at Middle Tennessee, snapping WKU’s 13-year drought in Murfreesboro. Brown capped her season with a spot on the C-USA All-Tournament Team, averaging 16.7 points per game en route to helping WKU to its second C-USA Tournament crown in three seasons.

Over Brown’s three seasons, the Lady Toppers have posted an 84-19 record (.816). The 84 victories for WKU are the most in a three-season span by any team in C-USA’s history.

WKU will open the 2017-18 season with an exhibition matchup against Union (Tenn.) at E.A. Diddle Arena on Nov. 2. The Lady Toppers will then go on the road to open the regular season, squaring off against Missouri in the 2017 Hawkeye Challenge in Iowa City, Iowa, on Nov. 10 before battling either Iowa or Quinnipiac on Nov. 11.
