It was the second time this season the Louisville native has been honored by the John Mackey Award Selection Committee, previously earning honorable mention status after recording six receptions and 54 yards – while adding a two-point conversion rush – in a Sept. 16 loss to Louisiana Tech.

Among WKU’s 15 receivers who caught at least one pass Saturday, Yelder led them all with his seven receptions. Overall, his 92 yards sat behind wide receiver Kylen Towner’s game high of 111.

Yelder had “chunk” plays in the second quarter of 25 yards from quarterback Mike White and 26 yards on a trick play pass from wide receiver Nacarius Fant.

On the season, Yelder ranks second on the Hilltoppers with 24 receptions and 272 yards, which includes three “chunk” plays. Meanwhile, his two touchdowns lead the club – to go along with a pair of two-point conversions.
