Greenwood closes out regular season with 2-0 victory

Host Greenwood picked up a 2-0 girls’ soccer win Tuesday over Owensboro Catholic.
Anne Logan Perkins and Roxanna Saifizadeh scored goals for the Lady Gators, with Elizabeth Carter and Annabel Justice providing assists.

Goalkeeper Elizabeth DeMarse notched the shutout for Greenwood (17-2-1), which next plays Oct. 11 against South Warren in the District 14 tournament semifinals at Warren East.
Boys’ soccer
Greenwood 2, Owensboro 2
Greenwood battled to a 2-2 boys’ soccer tie with host Owensboro on Tuesday.
Gerber Espinoza and Soe Reh tallied the goals for the Gators.
Greenwood (4-9-3) is back in action Thursday against visiting LaRue County.

Alejandro Bueso scored seven goals to lead visiting Glasgow to 9-0 boys’ soccer win Tuesday over LaRue County.
Chris Goulbourne finished with one goal and four assists, and Marc Buchannan had the other goal for the Scotties. Adam Garrett chipped in with three assists, and Jose Duvon and Alex Elizalde also had an assist each.
Goalkeeper Brantley Estes earned the shutout for Glasgow (15-2), which plays again Saturday at North Bullitt.
Logan County 6, Muhlenberg County 2
Nicholas Petrie and Garrett Wilhelm each scored two goals and tallied an assist as host Logan County earned a 6-2 boys’ soccer win Tuesday over Muhlenberg County.
Camden Boyd added a goal and an assist, Isaac Phillips notched a goal and Dalton Taylor had an assist for the Cougars.
Logan County (6-8-1) returns to action Thursday at Ohio County.
