Greenwood volleyball sweeps ACS

The Greenwood volleyball team swept visiting Allen County-Scottsville 3-0 (25-10, 25-7, 25-11) on Tuesday.

Greenwood (14-1) was led by senior outside hitter Alexa Davis with 14 kills, while junior outside hitter Emmie Bender added six kills. Senior setter Rileigh Stivers dished out 28 assists, and senior defensive specialist Grace Hewitt had 11 digs.

Greenwood will play at Breckinridge County on Thursday.

Boys’ soccer

Warren East 10,

Monroe County 0

Selemani Omari had three goals and an assist as Warren East rolled to a 10-0 boys’ soccer win Tuesday at Monroe County.

Eddie Cano had two goals and four assists, and Mikiah Vondracek chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Warren East (3-7) also got single goals from Juan Duran, Brayden Miller and George Rangel. Anthony Cano and Bryson Johnson tallied assists, and Raiders goalkeeper Kobe Kawaii recorded the shutout.

Warren East hosts District 14 rival Warren Central on Thursday.

Greenwood 7,

Barren County 1

Benito Valero tallied two goals and an assist as host Greenwood earned a 7-1 boys’ soccer win Thursday over Barren County.

Hunter Hawkins added two goals, and Thorsten Karres had a goal and an assist for the Gators. Angello Alfaro also had a goal and an assist, Soe Reh added a goal and Luke Overmohle tallied three assists in the win.

Greenwood (4-4) hosts Bowling Green on Thursday.

Barren County (6-3-1) hosts LaRue County on Friday in the Trojan Classic.

Logan County 10,

Russellville 0

Garrett Wilhelm earned a hat trick with five goals as host Logan County rolled to a 10-0 boys’ soccer win Tuesday over District 13 rival Russellville.

Cameron Fagan had a goal and three assists, and Dalton Taylor finished with a goal and two assists for the Cougars. Seth Burchett, Jon Allen Cherry and Mark Lynch added a goal each for Logan County, while Nicholas Petrie had two assists. Logan Harris and Zachary Matthews had one assist each.

Cougars goalkeeper Kaleb Justice recorded the shutout.

Logan County (3-4, 3-1 District 13) hosts Butler County on Thursday. Russellville (0-8, 0-3) hosts University Heights on Monday.

Butler County 8,

Hart County 2

Ernest Lee, Hubis Lopez and Jose Sanchez scored two goals apiece as host Butler County topped Hart County 8-2 in boys’ soccer Tuesday.

Guerrmo Gonzales and Jacoty Hope chipped in with a goal each for the Bears.

Butler County (5-5) visits Logan County on Thursday.

Girls’ soccer

Barren County 3,

Glasgow 1

Laney Smith scored two goals to lead Barren County to a 3-1 girls’ soccer win Tuesday at Glasgow.

Hadleigh Hammer added a goal for the Trojanettes, who also got assists from Maddie Green and Emma Hughes.

Barren County (7-4, 4-0 District 15) hosts Warren Central on Friday in the Trojan Classic.

Glasgow (4-6, 2-2) visits South Warren on Thursday.
