Hot Rods season ends on walkoff homer

The Bowling Green Hot Rods’ season ended with a 6-4 loss Thursday at Fort Wayne (Ind.)
Bowling Green led 4-1 after six innings before the TinCaps rallied for five runs in the final three innings – including a walk-off two-run homer from Marcus Greene Jr. as Fort Wayne swept the Hot Rods 2-0 in the best-of-three series.
It was the fourth time in five postseason appearances the Hot Rods have been swept – the third time against Fort Wayne. Bowling Green is 1-10 all time in the postseason.
Luis Rengifo had three hits for the Hot Rods, while Miles Mastrobuoni had two hits. Josh Lowe, Rene Pinto and Jesus Sanchez had an RBI each.
Adrian Navas allowed one run over six innings with six strikeouts and a walk, but got the no-decision.
The Hot Rods will open the 2018 season April 5, hosting Dayton (Ohio) at Bowling Green Ballpark.
