Cockrill earns all-tournament spot for Lindsey Wilson in Blue Raider Kickoff

Lindsey Wilson senior women’s golfer Shayna Cockrill (Allen County-Scottsville Class of 2014) made the all-tournament team following her top-five showing in the two-day Blue Raider Kickoff that ended Tuesday at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson in Columbia.
Cockrill tied for fifth place in the tournament with a two-round total of 8-over par 152 (76-76), helping the host Blue Raiders win the tournament by 12 strokes with a combined 611. Cockill finished the two-day tournament with par scores on 26 holes, tops on her team and the second-most among players in the 10-team field.
Campbellsville junior Kyle Withrow (Barren County Class of 2015) turned in a top-10 performance to help the Tigers finish third in the team standings with a combined 642. Withrow shot 81 in Monday’s opening round, then closed with a 75 to finish ninth overall with a 156.
Brescia sophomore Allison Holeman (South Warren Class of 2016) led the Bearcats with a two-round total of 88-89–177. The Bearcats finished 10th in the team standings.
Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville return to the links on Sept. 18-19 for the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament at Cherry Blossom Country Club in Georgetown. Brescia returns to action Oct. 9-10 for the River States Conference fall tournament.

Pikeville freshman libero Brittany Reels (Greenwood Class of 2017) totaled an ace and eight digs in the Bears’ 3-0 (25-23, 29-26, 25-20) road volleyball loss to Kentucky Christian on Tuesday.
UPIKE (3-5) heads north to the Earlham College Quaker Classic this weekend, playing Wright State-Lake Campus and IU-East on Saturday, followed by a match with Capital (Ohio) on Sunday.
