Shannon Booth was named the new girls’ basketball head coach at Russellville High School on Saturday.

Booth, who served this past season as an assistant coach under Calvin Head, is married to current Russellville boys’ basketball head coach Rex Booth. Last season at Russellville, Booth helped lead the Lady Panthers to a spot in the Region 4 tournament.

Prior to her time at Russellville, Booth worked as an assistant girls’ basketball coach at Marshall County from 2010-14 and helped coach that program to three district championships, three regional championships, two trips to the Elite Eight in the Kentucky Girls’ Sweet Sixteen state tournament, and compile a 110-32 record during that span.

Booth also served as Marshall County’s volleyball head coach in 2010 and 2011, leading the team to a district championship and two regional appearances.
