Hot Rods claim 8-0 shutout victory over South Bend

Adrian Navas and Greg Maisto combined to pitch a six-hit shutout to lead the Bowling Green Hot Rods to an 8-0 victory Saturday over South Bend (Ind.) at Bowling Green Ballpark.
Navas worked the first six innings, allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out four. Navas got the win, and Maisto pitched the final three innings for his second save of the season.
Jim Haley paced the Hot Rods’ offense with a pair of hits and four RBIs. Jesus Sanchez added a home run as part of a 2-for-5 night, and Michael Brosseau and Garrett Whitley added two hits each for Bowling Green (57-52).
The Hot Rods return to action Sunday with a 4:05 p.m. home matchup against South Bend.
