BG evens series with Kane County

The Bowling Green Hot Rods bounced back from a series-opening loss to take game two 2-1 against Kane County (Ill.) on Thursday.

Angel Yepez allowed one run and four hits over five innings to earn his first victory since 2015. The Hot Rods’ winning rally came off former major league reliever J.J. Hoover, who is on a rehab assignment with Kane County.

Robbie Tenerowicz and Mike Brosseau had two hits each for Bowling Green (44-44 overall, 13-8 second half), which moved back to .500 for the second time since May 11.

The series concludes at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Left-hander Kenny Rosenberg (3-6, 5.02) is scheduled to start for the Hot Rods. Right-hander Emilio Vargas (3-3, 3.40) is scheduled to start for Kane County.{&end}
